Arrival by plane
Bodensee Airport Friedrichshafen is located close to the trade fair grounds. Requests for charter flights (min. 10 persons) can be placed here.
Zurich Airport has excellent connections to Friedrichshafen by train or a combination of ferry and train or catamaran and train. Most taxi companies offer a shuttle service to Zurich Airport.
Arrival by car
Messe Friedrichshafen is centrally located on the northern shore of Lake Constance and is easily accessible from all directions. From the west, follow the A81/A98 freeway until it ends (Bodensee/Lindau exit) and continue on the B31 to Friedrichshafen. An alternative is the A8 to the Ulm West exit and then the B30 to Friedrichshafen.
From the east your journey takes you via the A96 (direction Lindau). Take the Sigmarszell/Friedrichshafen exit and continue on the B31 to Friedrichshafen. To avoid possible traffic jams, you can also use the well-signposted secondary routes to get to Messe Friedrichshafen.

You will find several charging stations on our trade fair grounds: In the East 2 car park, in the West 1 and East 1 car parks and in front of Hall B1. Electric vehicles can be charged for free during events, congresses or conferences at one of the designated locations, or the cost is included in the parking fees. Please note that you cannot reserve charging stations in advance. Refer to our info sheet for more information about the charging options.
Arrival by train or intercity bus
Visitors from Germany can use the InterRegioExpress (IRE) or RegionalExpress (RE) train services to get to Friedrichshafen. There is additionally an ICE/IC connection every hour via Ulm. The company Flixbusalso serves Friedrichshafen. The intercity buses stop at Friedrichshafen Stadt station.
In the city, a free bus shuttle (line MX) runs from Friedrichshafen Stadt station and Friedrichshafen Hafen station (ferry terminal) to the trade fair grounds and back. The city bus line 5 goes to Messe Friedrichshafen as well. We will also gladly put you in touch with a taxi company or a car rental company. If you are traveling to us from Switzerland, you can take the SBB Basel/Lindau line, or drive to Romanshorn, then catch the Lake Constance ferry to Friedrichshafen with departures every hour. Alternatively, you can take the intercity from Zurich and Winterthur to Konstanz. Konstanz has a direct connection to the catamaran to Friedrichshafen.
Visitors from western Austria can get to Friedrichshafen with ÖBB via Bregenz and the German interchange station Lindau. From other regions in Austria, we recommend the long-distance routes via Munich and Ulm to Friedrichshafen.
Arrival by public transport
A free MesseExpress (line MX) bus shuttle also runs from Friedrichshafen Stadt station and Friedrichshafen Hafen station (ferry terminal) to the trade fair grounds and back. The city bus line 5 (you will need to buy a ticket) also takes you from the city center to the trade fair, dropping off at the West entrance.
Arrival by taxi or rental car
You can also easily get to Messe Friedrichshafen by taxi.
